Treasurer
Susan McDonough
Susan McDonough relocated from Brooklyn to the Hamlet of Springs in 1992, where she began her career as a bookkeeper for a local builder. She and her husband established roots in the community by building a home and engaging in community events. As her family grew, Susan sought flexible work arrangements and in 2002 became the executive secretary and bookkeeper at Springs Presbyterian Church. This role naturally led to her managing the financial and accounting needs of Springs Food Pantry, a church mission.
Susan's responsibilities include managing daily financial operations such as deposits, cash flow, bank reconciliations, invoice and credit card analysis, bill payments, and financial reporting. She is skilled in QuickBooks and collaborates closely with the Director on expense categorization and journal entries. Additionally, Susan supports the Food Pantry Director with budgeting, investments, grant application submissions and fact gathering for the accountant who completes the IRS filings and annual financial review of the accounting records.
“Driven by a passion for helping others, I recognized a need in the financial management of Springs Food Pantry. Given my experience handling the books for Springs Church, it was a natural progression for me to contribute my skills to this organization that serves so many in our community. My involvement allows me to support a cause that makes a significant impact on people's lives.”
